-
- I should certainly hope so. That's what releasing new versions is all about -
- making each better than the old one. At least ircII has kept true to this
- aim.
-
- Anyway, the reason ircII has a chance to improve in pre8 and beyond is
- that I have always encorouged participation in the development by others,
- and even created a mailing list on which they *could* share ideas.
- (That is, a mailing list for developers only). I only ever rejected
- a submission once, from memory, and that was because it came in a single
- patch that contained more modifications that were applicable only
- to that one site than were applicable to the rest of the userbase.
- If the portion that was applicable to the rest of the userbase had
- been submitted separately, I would have accepted it.
-
- On the other hand, you feel so threatened by others that you have
- actively discouraged others from participating. You're so scared
- shitless by the thought that others might have found problems
- in your code or be able to fix something you overlooked or couldn't
- fix that you have rejected patches that fix genuine bugs (and do nothing
- other than fix genuine bugs). In fact, if you hadn't been so busy
- defending an ego which was inflated to bursting point, ircd might
- be in far better shape than it is today.
-
- Unlike you, I do not feel threatened by the participation of others.
-
- Your overinflated ego is so fragile due to your pathetic little
- insecurities that all it would take to shatter it is one prick.
-
- "I am that prick"
