-
- Forking bots are nasty since they can possibly stop other users using
- server(s) - they can only handle a finite number of connections and the
- number of possible servers a client can connect to is also finite.
-
- Perhaps those of you who see these listless bots could email the admins
- of the servers they connect to and ask that they be K-lined so that
- normal users of IRC may use their server without any degradation in
- service.

-
- The real burden is hard to quantify. It is enough to recongize that it
- is an excess.

-
- Actually, we do. We're just not stupid enough to join that channel any
- more. When people stop listening to what you're saying there is little
- anyone can do.
-
- If people are really interested in having serious conversations then the
- channel inhabitants will eventually realize that #hottub won't go anywhere
- if the bots dont go. What the "SNUB" group should be doing is waging
- their campaigns on the problem channels rather than in alt.irc.
-
- The next step in the flood race will be won by the next server release.
