- I don't want to step on anyone's toes or offend, I would just like to
- hear peoples views.
-
- I think there are some striking similarities between religious
- ceremonies/experiences and hypnosis.
-
- People say that when they 'give themselfs to god', they are touched
- by something that calms them.
-
- When I put myself in a hypnotic state, one method of deepening
- the hypnotic state I use is to accept completely what the voice is
- saying, allow the voice on the tape to take COMPLETE control.
-
- Also, I have found without explicit suggestion, I have gone into
- a euphoric state while under hypnosis.
-
- One can also see some aspects of religious ceremonies that are similar
- to hypnotic induction sequences.
-
- Now, I'm not saying that religious experiences are hypnosis, just that
- there seems to be some similarities.
-
- Pete.
