- A while back I wrote a hynosis thing for my micro (amiga). It was pretty crude as it was
- a Cshell script that sent words to a speeech synthesizer, but the content of it was
- as follows

- technique-wise self-hypnosis is no different from *real* hypnosis. All you do is
- substitute the word "You" with I my mine ....

- I want you to find a comfortable place to lie down.
-
- Lie on your back, with your arms resting by your side.
-
- You are lying on your back and already feeling a little relaxed.
-
- In a moment you will enter a state of complete relaxation, also
- known as hypnosis or trance.
-
- You will feel as if every muscle in your body has gone limp.
-
- Your whole body, from the top of your head, to the tips of your
- toes will feel numb and relaxed.
-
- You will concentrate on my voice at all times. If I stop speaking
- for more than half an hour, you will automatically come out of
- trance feeling refreshed and fully awake.
-
- In the event of an emergency you will automatically come out of
- trance and be fully awake. You will be able to do whatever is
- necessary to get out of the crisis.

- You may not enter the state of hypnosis while in control of any
- kind of machinery, or where remaining awake is important.

- You may enter the state of relaxation only if you are lying or
- sitting down, listening to this tutorial, under the guidance of
- an experienced hypnotherapist, or under self-hypnosis.

- please close your eyes.

- to start the relaxation here are some deep breathing exercises.
-
- take a deep breath in through your nose. hold it for a second.
- breathe out through your mouth, and go limp.
-
- you can feel your body relaxing already.
-
- do this, slow inhalation and quick exhalation, three or four
- times. keep your eyes closed.
-
- deep breathing is a very effective way of relaxing. It also helps
- to lower your pulse rate.
-
- it will be easy for you to continue this deep breathing for the
- remainder of this tutorial.

- From now on, you will be able to concentrate on my voice. You
- will ignore any other noises, no matter how loud they may be. If
- someone wishes to talk with you, or there is an emergency, you
- will awaken from trance feeling totally refreshed, and in full
- control of your body.

- The next time, you will easily enter an even deeper state of
- trance.

- Your muscles are already beginning to relax. As your muscles
- relax, you will feel a pleasant sensation of numbness coming over
- you. It usually begins with your feet and legs growing numb.

- Next your hands and arms will grow numb, And then a very pleasant
- sensation of numbness will spread over your entire body. You will
- begin to enter a state of complete mental and physical
- relaxation. It is a wonderful feeling to relax, and you are going
- to relax from your head to your toes. You will begin with your
- mind.

- You will ignore any other noises. If you hear a noise it will
- make you feel more relaxed. Your mind will listen to every word I
- say, and refrain from thinking or doing anything else.

- Your mind will, in a few moments, become lazy. So lazy that it
- will think of , and do nothing. Your mind will see only
- darkness, emptiness , a complete blank. You will hear, feel the
- meaning of, and live, every word I say.

- Your mind is relaxing now. As your mind relaxes, the relaxation
- has begun to spread to every part of your head . Every nerve and
- muscle in your head is relaxing. You can feel the tenseness
- leaving your head . Now the skin and flesh on your forehead is
- softening up, smoothing out, relaxing. All the tenseness,
- wrinkles and frowns have left your forehead.

- As you breathe deeply: the muscles in your throat are relaxing.
- As you swallow: You can feel your throat relaxing.
-
- The relaxation is spreading into your jaws. As you open your jaws
- slightly: your jaws relax.
-
- Your tongue, teeth and gums are all relaxing. You can feel them
- growing numb.
-
- The relaxation is spreading out into your lips, which hang
- loosely and comfortably.
-
- The numbness and relaxation continues to spread across the whole
- of your face. Your chin, cheeks, nose and ears; are all relaxing
- and growing numb.
-
- Your entire head is growing more numb, and the relaxation is
- spreading into your eyes.
-
- The numbness travels through the bottom eye lid: across the
- eyelashes: and into the upper eye lid. You can feel the tension
- leaving your eyebrows. The relaxation enters your eyes. You can
- feel every part of your eyes becoming relaxed: and pleasantly
- numb. The numbness enters the centre of each eyeball, first the
- left, and then the right. The numbness in your eyes grows larger
- and larger: expanding to fill both eye sockets.

- You are driving out all the tension from the muscles in your
- chest: your neck: the back , and the top of your head. You can
- feel the relaxation going down, deep down, between your shoulder
- blades, and right down your spine. The relaxation has traveled
- through each of the bones in your spine, and is now at the base
- of your spine. Every muscle in that region of your body is
- relaxing. As those muscles and nerves relax, a very pleasant
- sensation of numbness, and detachment is spreading over your
- entire body.

- I will now count from ten to one. At each number, every part of
- your body will become twice as relaxed.

- ten. you are twice as relaxed.

- 9. ... you are four times as relaxed.

- 6. ... you are relaxing all the time.

- 5. you are going deeper into relaxation.

- 2. deeper, ... and ... deeper, feeling so ... relaxed.

- Every part of your body is feeling very, very relaxed. So
- relaxed, that your body is pleasantly numb and feeling detached.

- You are going deeper and deeper into complete relaxation of mind
- and body. with every breath, you are getting more and more
- relaxed.

- You are driving out all the tension from both your shoulders. The
- relaxation is traveling down your arms, through both elbows,
- through the for arms, into both wrists, out through the palms of
- your hands, and down into your fingertips. You can feel the
- tension leaving every part of your body.

- You are driving out the tenseness from the nerves and muscles of
- your stomach and abdomen. The relaxation is spreading around your
- waist, into the small of your back.

- It feels so good: as the nerves and muscles in the small of your
- back ,soften up and relax. it is so ...restful, so ...
- comfortable. when you are ... deep, ... deep, ... deep asleep.
- coming over you. You are going deeper; ... and deeper; ... into
- complete relaxation of mind and body.

- You are driving out, all the tenseness from the muscles in your
- hips and thighs. The relaxation is traveling down your thighs;
- through your knees: legs: and ankles: into the small muscles of
- your feet. Feel the pleasant numbness, traveling through your
- feet to the tips of your toes.

- It feels so good as all the tenseness leaves your entire body.
- Every muscle and nerve in your body, from the top of your head to
- the tips of your toes, is feeling completely relaxed; pleasantly
- numb; and detached. With every moment that passes, you are going

- You are feeling so detached, that you can hardly feel you have a
- body. You are experiencing a complete state of mental peace:
- serenity: and tranquility.

- You are now going to relax even more than you are at this
- moment.

- I am going to count from ten. backwards, all the way down to
- zero.

- With each lower count, you will feel twice as relaxed.

- At the count of 5, you will awaken, feeling completely refreshed
- and wide awake. Beginning with the count of:

- 1. you are feeling fine: wonderful: perfect.

- 2. You are completely refreshed and awake.

- 3. all the numbness and detachment is leaving your body.

- 4. your eyes have opened. you can feel the sensation returning
- to every muscle and nerve in your body.

- You have been in a deep state of relaxation
