- I've heard, and read in Hot Rod, etc. that anymore, the type F Ford tranny
- fluid isn't always the best to use, as far as fluids are concerned. Just
- because it says Ford, doesn't mean it will work better with Ford fluid.
-
- The type F fluid was designed to work with the asbestos clutch packs, which
- Ford used extensively for many years. The transmissions they offer now,
- and that includes rebuild parts too, use organic clutch material like GM,
- etc. It might be a good idea to check what kind of clutch material you
- have, and decide accordingly. You might be better off putting Dexeron,
- (GM tranny fluid), in there than the type F stuff.
-
- Anybody else know or heard about what I'm talking about?
