- As was most graciously brought to my attention today, I used the term
- "homophobe" in two contradictory ways in one of my posts of a few days
- ago.
-
- I said that a "homophobe" is someone who hates homosexuals without reason,
- and tho cannot be reasoned with. I later said that some of them CAN be
- reasoned with.
-
- Perhaps what I meant to say was that there are those people out there who
- harbor a shallow dislike for gays and lesbians and who are willing to
- change their viewpoints when dealt with in a rational manner. There
- people would not, then, qualify as homophobes, but are simply ignorant
- because they have never met many homosexuals in their lives and have only
- stereotypes to go on (such as myself in High School, I'm sorry to say).
-
- Peace, brothers and sisters.
