- Greetings, everyone.
- I have to clear up several points that followed from my recent posting.
- First of all, old LongDongBoy used my name as a justification for his
- views, suggesting that I had accused the folks here of reverse bigotry.
- To be clear: I have not accused anyone of reverse bigotry, and I hope that
- it is clear that I would probably agree with DongChild about nothing.
-
- Second, I apologize for being too serious, and for misinterpreting a slur
- aimed at an individual as a slur aimed at a group. Is there a smiley
- which makes it clear whether you are talking to a group or an individual?
- [Please note-that was a rhetorical question.] Anyway, I'm a serious
- person pretty much all the time. So sue me.
-
- Third, I'm not suggesting that the oppressed group be tolerant of the
- abuse of their oppressors. I'm simply suggesting that being intolerant of
- your oppressors is going to get you nowhere fast. You say that this
- leaves no good solution? Right you are. Hence the present situation. If
- you tolerate their oppression, they ignore you and continue to oppress.
- If you don't, you alienate them and they see no reason to change. A
- vicious cycle.
-
- This will probably generate flames, because I'm in a hurry, can't edit,
- and didn't think too hard before I started. Damn.
