  17. Actually, no.  That's just my point.  What they are deserving of is
  18. education, but they are no more deserving of condemnation than are you or
  19. anyone else.
  20. Condemning that which you do not understand is far too easy.  
  21. If he calls you a faggot, and you call him a stupid het boy, have the two
  22. of you made any progress?  Are you any closer to a tolerant society in
  23. which homosexuality is not frowned upon?

  25. Seriously, this group too often takes on overtones of over-simplification.
  26. "Gay guys make better friends for women."
  27. "Stupid het boys deserve condemnation."
  28. "All men who oppose homosexuality are secretly gay."
  29. "All gay men like anal sex."
  30. "Heterosexuals just don't understand."

  32. All I'm asking is that each of us be treated as individuals.  Dispense
  33. with the vague generalizations, the blanket statements.  Reason with the
  34. "stupid het boy", don't yell at him.  If he won't listen, try someone
  35. else.  Eventually, if you reason with enough people, the "stupid het boy"
  36. will be an irrelevant relic of the past.
