  10. I don't know about board surfing but there are some sea kayakers who go
  11. out of their way to kayak-surf on Superior.  Armed with drysuits, hoods,
  12. gloves and other hypothermia protection some of these paddlers (mostly
  13. from the Chicago area) are crazy enough to have a "Gales of November"
  14. event where they ride the *very* frigid winter waves of Lake Superior.

  16. Personally, I'd rather stick with kayaking or canoeing Isle Royale, the
  17. Apostle Islands or the Pukaskwa area of Lake Superior in August.
  18. Getting back to Superior every year is a great relief from the humid 95
  19. degree summers of central Florida where I now live!
