- DEAR DREAM
-
-
- In your hair of darkest night
- And in your eyes, my grim delight
- I wake to faces always seeming
- Turn out the light, go back to dreaming.
-
- Light the match, ignite the flame
- Let inhibition not remain
- I'll take you, if you have the time
- And in your flame myself define.
-
- Of dreaming things I'll tell you more,
- Of dreams that wash up on the shore,
- Of driftwood on the meted wave,
- The blood of dreams that sleepers crave,
-
- Of sands that crust the waking eye,
- And dreams that make the wakened sigh,
- Of never seen but known on sight,
- And infant dreamers' maiden flight.
-
- So take me up with gentle kiss
- From mundane world to ethered bliss
- Away to lands of shadow-make
- Let body, soul, and mind partake.
