- I just completed version 1.5 of AmiGuide which does hypertext style cross
- referencing, has a slightly enhanced interface, and fixes several bugs in
- reading the articles.
-
- My search feature left something to be desired, so I spent most of tonight
- trying out different ideas, and have finally opted to use more of a
- database approach to storing information about the author, title, etc..
- This will allow a much more flexible Index and allow me to add some other
- features I thought of. I hope to get 2.0 ready within the next two weeks
- or so. (Perhaps before Thanksgiving.)
-
- Osma, I wish you luck in your ARexx version. ARexx is my language of choice
- and I have written lots of BBS games with it, but I have never tried to
- create a graphic interface with it. Actually I have a rough version of
- AmiGuide written in ARexx, but I didn't get far when I realized that the
- GUI was essential, and switched to CanDo (which does have a lot overhead,
- but I don't mind.) I will be VERY interested in seeing what it looks like.
- I just wrote a small little ARexx macro that removes CR's from text files,
- and it is very slow - I wish I had an ARexx compilor.
-
- Take it easy froods,
- James Palmer
