  19.     One time we had an early PDP11 with a switched cache that developed
  20.     some bugs, the cache would quit and you had to turn the cash enable
  21.     switch off and on again to restart it. It took us a month or so
  22.     before we finally found the intermittent bug (an insoldered joint,)
  23.     that caused it.

  25.     Years later you would still see people go into the computer room and
  26.     cycle the cache to "speed things up." When asked what they were doing
  27.     the would say, "I don't know, but so-and-so told me this helps."
