- transit, it's worth the extra few dollars to buy a good, strong poster
- tube at your local art supply or hardware store. These cost from $2.50
- to $6, the better ones look like STAR TREK props and will probably be
- useful for many other things. (Please do not mail me extra money for

-
- The least expensive WIZARD laserdisk ("The Wizard of Speed and
- Time" ID 7209) sources I've seen are:
-
- Sight & Sound, 27 James Road, Waltham, MA 02154, (617) 894-8633
- (Mon-Wed 10-7, Thu-Fri 10-9 EST). Ask for DELIA HUSE (who knows
- practically everything about any laserdisk out there). $19.95
-
- The Whole Toon Access, PO Box 369, Issaquah, Washington 98027
- (206) 391-8747 (Mon-Fri 9-6, PST). Also $19.95
-
- Considering that the laserdisks originally sold for $39.95, and
- only 600-6000 were made, $20 per disk is a good buy.
-
- Whole Toon Access also has the VHS tapes (SGE 2005), but at SGE's
- (the alleged distributor) original over-price of $89.95. I was
- never consulted on any pricing (hey, the distributor refuses to
- show me any contract that they have ANY distribution right whatsoever),
- so please - no complaints on the prices, availability, etc.
-
- SGE recently dumped the last remaining VHS tapes to a liquidator
- (one of the true facts mentioned in their allegedly fake Press
- Release), and many of the tapes were quickly saved by Su Braviak.
- She and her husband Joe sell them for just $19.95 through their
- Science Fiction Continuum, PO Box 154, Colonia, NJ 07067, and
- toll-free number is 800-232-6002. I believe the tapes are still
- in the original SGE box, encased in theri original SGE shrink-wrap.
-
- (The above are free public/fan service announcements, I get no
- payments, kickbacks, or anything else for all the info, articles,
- rants and ravings* I am posting/answering on the Net.) (Which is
- another reason I gotta stop, pretty soon, and look for a real job
- or source of income that will extend my life to the next project.)
- (* -except for the remaining Kelly Freas posters, of course, which
- just about pay for my UseNet phonebill.)
-
- USUAL NOTE: I do not mind if you make copies of our movie for your
- personal library, or for your friends' viewing pleasure. None of the
- people who labored on the creative side of this production make any
- money on its distribution. I am just happy that our work is being
- seen and enjoyed. (And maybe some Patron of the Arts will happen
- to see it, maybe even offer to help rescue it, and/or finance the
- next project - you never know... Life is constantly surprising.)
-
- >and how much does a laserdisk player run? What features should I look for,
- >etc...?
-
- Not sure - I don't have one. I've heard that good used players
- cost between $190 to $800. The better and newer models will
- allow you more access to the film's subliminal frames. But
- the laserdisk was made in the CLV format (instead of Image's
- assured and promised CAV format), so you only see every OTHER
- frame. Every frame is still on the disk, however, and transfers
- beautifully to any format of videotape.
-
- (You might ask this question of Delia.)
