  13. Just discovered the network.  Pretty cool.  Lots of juicy gossip!! I do have a
  14. question to the  people who think that Madison made a mistake with their
  15. muscial selection.  Who did you march with and when?? Did you march Scouts or
  16. know their staff.  I marched in '91 and had a great year.  However, I always
  17. wanted to play some of the older Scouts music.  I have a lot of recordings and
  18. some of my favorite ones are old Scout shows.  Ask anyone who has ever marched
  19. in the corps and they will tell you that they have always wanted to play one
  20. song(from the past) more than any other.  Mine is "Strawberry Soup".  Even
  21. before I marched the staff had wanted to pull out this and other songs for one
  22. more time.  The Scouts may get slammed for playing old tunes and "regressing
  23. DCI", but mark my words the members of the corps will be having the most fun
  24. of any other corps on the field.  It says something about a show when you have
  25. members from as far back as '88 and'89 returning to march because of the music.  
  26. As for the "all-knowing" men in green shirts, my History professor put it best
  27. when he said lots of people in this world are "OFTEN WRONG BUT NEVER IN DOUBT".
  28. This is my age-out year and I plan on living it to the fullest.  So what if
  29. top 5 is not in the cards this year.  I don't march with the Scouts for the
  30. reason of winning or placing in the  top5.  This activity was ultimately founded
  31. on the people sitting in the stands and a good crowd response beats anything
  32. else.  Like I said before, this is only my opinion but I kind of doubt I'm
  33. alone.  Oh, by the way, the Scouts ARE NOT playing "Remembrance" after all. 
  34. They are arranging a new piece.  
  35. I'm interested in getting a response to this article so someone answer if you
  36. have time.  If any Souts alumnae ever make it up to Boone, NC  look me up.  I
  37. live at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house on King Street.
