- Oh? One of my favorite moments in the 1988 PBS broadcast came at the very end.
- The announcer was giving the semifinals scores out and the camera focused
- on the Cavaliers just as he recited Cadets' and Cavaliers' scores. It turned
- out that Cavies had beaten Cadets in semis although they lost to them in
- finals. The Cavies reacted as if they said: DAMN! We beat them in prelims
- and we let them get past us! That is consistent with them being ignorant
- of the semi-final scores, not their knowing them. If they had known, they
- would have acted that way when the *final* scores were announced!
