- As I've stated before, I believe Madison's program was the most
- sophisticated visual program in 1988. Every other section was stong as
- well. I didn't agree that Madison should have won until I got the
- video's and CD's. If you watch and listen to that show, you'll see there
- was nothing else that could compete with that design and performance.

- Well definitely in advance, the Rules Congress agreed that not
- announcing the prelim scores would heighten the supspence of finals. I
- personally didn't agree, and I was very surprised that Madison even made
- that top five (which would be on the PBS broadcast.)

- Fortunately, by the next year DCI had decided that the uproar over the
- "mystery finals" wasn't worth the suspense. BTW, I have it on a very good
- source that the top-12 did indeed know the scores going into the finals
- performance.
