  20. Before tour, we also practiced from 10 AM to 10 PM except when our
  21. gorilla section leader decided sectionals would start a 8 AM.  I really
  22. think this was a way to get used to what was going to happen on tour.

  24. Once you're on tour, you usually don't arrive until 2 or 3 AM, so the
  25. staff wants to make sure you get at least a few hours of sack-time on
  26. the floor.  (Who would ever imagine being grateful for sleeping on a
  27. hardwood floor.  GOD, I miss drum corps.)

  29. Wakeup and breakfast were usually around 8:00 AM and rehearsal started
  30. about an hour later.

  35. Well, it didn't feel none too good on sun and wind burnt lips, but I
  36. never really burned my lips.  I averaged two jars of Carmex and a bottle
  37. of Vitamin E oil each summer trying to fight off burnt lips though.

  39. I *did* have my lips freeze to my mouthpiece in a Christmas parade
  40. though.  The horns down at the end of the piece is something I'll never
  41. forget.
