  23. I would beg to differ on this point.  Even if someone were doing to same
  24. material in the same year, you judge the groups on how well they do what they
  25. attempt, not how well they do it compared to this other group that did it 5-6
  26. years ago.  This is just something I've had to learn to do from the limited
  27. rep. I see in the majority of marching programs (not strictly limited to corps).
  28. even so, I'd much rather see a different group perform the same material, than
  29. a corps recycling material.  Unless a group is like Star and redefines
  30. themselves year after year, the performance is going to be fundamentally the
  31. same.  The style and execution won't differ that much to make a true
  32. reinterpretation.

  37. If you're talking about Michael Torke, I feel Garfield would really be the
  38. appropriate corps for his compositional style, but from I've seen (and heard
  39. about where they're going) Boston could probably give the music a good turn in
  40. a couple of years (not right now, schade).  "Green" or "Bright Blue Music"
  41. would transfer best to the field.  Some of his chamber music might make good
  42. pieces for BD to try also.
