- I would beg to differ on this point. Even if someone were doing to same
- material in the same year, you judge the groups on how well they do what they
- attempt, not how well they do it compared to this other group that did it 5-6
- years ago. This is just something I've had to learn to do from the limited
- rep. I see in the majority of marching programs (not strictly limited to corps).
- even so, I'd much rather see a different group perform the same material, than
- a corps recycling material. Unless a group is like Star and redefines
- themselves year after year, the performance is going to be fundamentally the
- same. The style and execution won't differ that much to make a true
- reinterpretation.

- If you're talking about Michael Torke, I feel Garfield would really be the
- appropriate corps for his compositional style, but from I've seen (and heard
- about where they're going) Boston could probably give the music a good turn in
- a couple of years (not right now, schade). "Green" or "Bright Blue Music"
- would transfer best to the field. Some of his chamber music might make good
- pieces for BD to try also.
