- I didn't say I didn't like... I marched during some of those years.
- I'm pretty happy to say I marched with the corps to put the first
- (and only) synthesizer on the field. (not that I want to see corps
- make a habit of it :) ) It was a good choice for the corps at the
- time. (Quick trivia: what other instruments was Boston first to
- put on the field?)
-
- I was just pointing out the wide variety of styles the corps has
- explored in a short number of years.
-
- Also... a corps with 24 horns can pull off a cute pop tune. Some
- of the powerful classical stuff needs a big horn line to be effective.
- Small corps don't have all the options big ones do, making tunes like
- "California Dreamin" a reasonable choice.
-
- I cringe whenever I see a small HS band try to play some of the stuff
- the Cavies have done (like the planets) that just lays there unless
- you can blow the stands down.

-
- I agree. As soon as you play something that well known (in the
- drum corps world) you better be ready to do it better. When I
- hear Pictures at an Exhibition I can't help but think of SCV.
- And they did it soooo well, that reminding people of it isn't
- doing us any favors in comparison. :)
-
- I've been pushing for something new... or at least not something
- done so much. But, I'm not a big voice in those decisions. :)
- I hope no one does Micheal Tork before I convince Boston to do
- it.
-
- But we seem to be in copy-success-to-be-successful mode lately.
- (BIG IMHO here)
-
- By the way... anyone know how many times Carmina Borana has been done?
- I know Sky Riders did it not too long ago... but I'm not old enough
- to go much further back.

-
- You have no idea how loudly I groaned when I heard that we were doing
- Rocky as a show. I thought Woodall was joking. :)
