- I do a monthly reading on the new moon, along with a reading
- on an important relationship in my life. I have found that over time,
- the readings have been consistent and accurate. For example,
- the outcome of one month will show up as the environment or foundation of
- the next month (the same card), and accurately reflect my situation at
- that time.
- Also, all the major changes in my relationship have been predicted in the
- cards.
-
- Specifically, at the time of one reading, none of the cards seemed to fit
- my
- perspective of the relationship. A week later, there was a crisis in my
- relationship, and the reading was extremely accurate. I think the
- hardest part
- in reading for yourself is not ONLY interpreting the cards in the light
- of what you
- want but also looking at unpleasant alternatives. By reading regularly
- and keeping track of my readings over time and if my interpretations were
- realized, I have been better able to view both sides. My belief in
- divination has increased
- as my the accuracy and interpretation of the cards has improved over time.
-
- As for my method: (I believe that whatever method feels right to you is
- the
- best method) I use the Voyager deck. I used to fan the cards but I found
- myself unable to pick cards without thinking of which place I had picked
- the last
- card etc. Now I just shuffle the deck 3 or 9 times (if I just did a 10
- card spread),
- cut the deck in half and take the top card of the bottom half. This
- effectively
- removes my brain from the process and lets me intuitively choose the cut.
- Then I shuffle once, cut the deck and choose the next card etc. I find
- that
- my best readings are when I am in a relaxed/meditative state and I am
- emotionally involved in the reading (my relationship readings have been
- more
- accurate than my "generic" monthly ones).
-
- I usually use a celtic cross but I have also just asked questions, and
- choosen
- a card (building a conversation of sorts), shuffling the whole deck each
- time.
-
- I always have a difficult time interpreting the 8th and 9th cards in the
- spread
- (environment & Hopes/Fears). How does the 8th card differ from the 1st?
- Any suggestions?
