- Currently I don't have a lot of people in my life who are open to
- divination, so most of the reading I do is for myself. My problem (and
- this also happens when I read for others, but less often because usually
- when someone asks me for a reading, they have a specific reason) is that
- I tend to be more abstract and less concrete when I read for myself since
- I know *everything* that is happening in *my* life. Then again, I guess
- that is not such a bad thing. I do use the cards more as a tool for
- my spiritual growth than as a means of answering specific questions, as
- that is just what works for me. I've been using the Hanson-Roberts
- deck most of the time for both myself and for others every since I got
- it, but I also like to use the Morgan-Greer deck for my own readings. I
- was quite drawn to the Morgan-Greer from the first moment I saw it.
- A few of the cards in that deck have images that don't correspond to
- the traditional image on that card (I think the 9 of swords is one in
- particular), and so since I know *both* images, it gives me a bit of an edge.

- Kind of a bittersweet story there. I did a reading for my ex shortly before
- I moved out. It was an amicable parting, but difficult for us both. Sure
- enough, a card that clearly represented me showed up in her reading in
- the space for people in the situation. When I got done with the reading,
- I asked her what she thought, and she said, "They [the cards] were mean
- to you!" It's been a long time, but I think the card that came up for
- me in that situation was the Queen of Cups reversed or something similarly
- negative (my interpretation anyway.)
