  22. Actually, according to U2, or at least the Edge anyway, they've no problems
  23. with giving control of the single back to Negativland.  Island sued without
  24. bothering to talk to U2 and when they finally told them, U2 said, "Well,
  25. gee, it's kind of a fun record actually.  We have no problems with it."
  26. But since Island had already invested money in research for the suit they
  27. went ahead anyway so they could recoup their legal costs (as if they'd
  28. *miss* them.)  The only real obstacle is Casey Kasem threatening a lawsuit
  29. if Negativland releases the single again.  Or so I read in _The Letter U
  30. and the Numeral 2_ anyway, the latest release from Negativland.  It's worth
  31. buying.  A big magazine detailing their legal battles to date and a 30
  32. minute CD from their radio program dealing with copyright problems in
  33. art.
