- Boing-boing #9, with the Mondo-Mondo reverse cover, is not only hilarious,
- but ultimately good propaganda for R.U. Sirius and friends, provided they
- don't take themselves too siriusly. The dangers of becoming too much of a
- fashion statement, as Mondo 2K has unquestionably become in recent issues,
- can be seen in the advance PR material for a new and very pretentious zine
- called "Wired," which has the audacity to call itself the "vanguard of the
- digital underground" or some such rot. Folks I used to trust, such as Andy
- Bechtolsheim at Sun Micro, actually had the poor taste to associate their
- names with this "Wired" rubbish. Sure hope Boing-Boing can do a parody of
- "Wired" in the near future. And take heed, Sirius and Queen Mu! Read
- the premiere issue of "Wired" and think "There but for the grace of Boing-
- Boing's good humor could got Mondo 2K." It's already halfway there.
