- I agree. A mix of really weird techno-type stuff and classical music would
- be perfect for the Neuromancer score. Gibsons seems to be very interested
- in the strange, classical, and romantic elements that still underpin our
- society. The clash between these old traditions and the technology of the
- future is, to me, one of Gibson's major themes.
-
- Personally, I am tired of the Vangellis (sp?) school of science-fiction
- music. If you want to really turn non-sci-fi people off, play some
- Vangellis at the start of a movie. It is too cheesy synthesizer, reminding
- one of movies like Flash Gordon.
-
- Gibson, to use one his own terms, has more "edge" than Vangellis type stuff
- can convey. I think some just plain nasty Ministry, and some weird
- house-type 1000 beats-per-minute type stuff would be great. Throw some
- classical in, and you have a great mix for a movie that does not exist :) .
