- And let's not consider that it was a peer review board that charged
- the current maintenance coordinator with poor job performance, and
- the ICC's contracted staff chief that decided to close the discussion.
-
- How are we as co-opers supposed to be empowered when the staff protects
- itself from being reviewed?

- Everytime we try we get shot down by staff members and the good-feely
- group that thinks things are going wonderfully as the houses decay and
- membership drops. If you point out a problem, you are suppressed from
- the staff, houses that are benefitting from the current arrangment,
- and housemates that don't want you to make waves.

-
- Constructive criticism? How about "The executive director has no
- right to decide the result of a contract discussion". Or maybe "
- If the Maintenance Coordinator has been found to be performing in
- a sub-standard way, their contract should not be renewed." If we
- would do ourselves a favor and stop taking every negative observation
- as a gripe and *maybe* *consider* that that might be a legitimate
- criticism, we might be able to empower some people for a change, and
- get some useful things accomplished.

- I'd love to have some power for a change. Frankly, I'd have to stick
- around for at least two years and I'm not going to go through the
- aggravation. Besides, the above mentionned Maintenance Coordinator has
- decreed that my room will be ripped out and re-built as more cubby-holes.
- I've being forced to leave this May. Do you honestly expect me to
- come back when my room has been ripped out from under me once already?
