  12.     This is a proposal for ALT.PSYCHOTRONIC, a news group
  13. dedicated to the discussion of psychotronic films, art, and
  14. literature. 
  15.     
  16.     The term "psychotronic" is used mainly in dealing with
  17. films. More specifically, those films also known as "B",
  18. exploitation, grindhouse, drive-in, and low-budget. These films
  19. deal with psycho killers, rock-n-roll, out of control teenagers,
  20. alien or commie invaders, bikers, drugs, mad scientists,
  21. international spies, women in bikinis, men in gorilla suits, and
  22. a multitude of other topics. **

  24.     Psychotronic has moved into the areas of art (in the
  25. form of movie posters), pulp literature, comic books, and is
  26. slowly making its way into everyday life just by virtue of being
  27. "different".

  29.     This topic is unsuitable for ALT.CULT-MOVIES because
  30. this is an entire genre, and not just a few specific films. In
  31. fact, new films are churned out by Hollywood on a monthly basis
  32. that fit into the psychotronic category, not to mention the
  33. thousands of movies made since the 1940's.

  35.     This topic does not belong in any of the other .MOVIES
  36. or .FILM groups because it is much more than a film movement.
  37. Those groups would only get cluttered with talk not related to films.
