-
- Over at one of the smaller tables a decker wearing a black leather jacket
- and a black Greek Fisherman's hat is tapping away on the keyboard of his
- cyberdeck, watching three-dimensional graphs appear in the holographic
- display. He looks up from his deck, and nods to a woman seated across from
- him, who appears to be part cat and part human woman. At least she has the
- ears, whiskers and tail one would expect in a housecat. She also has a
- soft, downy golden fur. "Your turn, Thyra. Let's see what I can whip up
- while you introduce us."
-
- The feline human woman walks over to the newly returned patron as Irish
- music starts resonating from Jason's cyberdeck, and then from the bar's
- sound system. Penny-whistles, hand drums, bones and a hammer dulcimer can
- all be heard, in a lively welcoming song. The holographic display above
- Jason's cyberdeck is displaying a fourteen-track studio session, tracking
- all the instruments as they play through the MIDI interface and into the
- bar's sound system. He lowers the volume as the tall feline woman gets
- near.
-
- She says. "Hi! I'm Thyra, and my friend over there with the cyberdeck is
- Jason." He smiles and jacks out, removing the 5mm black cable that was
- plugged into his Cyberlink just under the short, brown pony-tail of his
- hair. Leaving the cyberdeck to play music, he walks over to join them. "We
- heard you like Celtic music." he says "Great! Thyra and I do as well, and
- so does my wife, Pegasus. The three of us are new here since August or so,
- and always glad to meet new friends here, and others who are returning. I'm
- afraid I didn't catch your name clearly. Do you go by Velvet, or Gwen, or
- something else? Anyway, welcome back. Care for a hug sandwich?" She nods
- and finds herself in the middle of a warm and friendly hug between Jason
- and Thyra.
-
- Jason notes that the music has stopped, and stares at the cyberdeck. The
- display re-arranges itself and starts a series of drinking songs by the
- Clancy Brothers. He taps his head and says "Built-in cellular modem. Slower
- than a direct link, but handy at times. Care for a welcome-home drink? Oh,
- we also do backrubs."
