  14. Violence, of course, has its plusses and minuses--but the few times the
  15. troll has used it, it has worked--
  16.  
  17. I had an interesting childhood (assuming you can believe the troll was
  18. ever a child).  I grew up in a fairly small town in the south, where there
  19. was a great deal of interest in physical sports, like football and baseball,
  20. and participation in these were expected of largish persons of the male
  21. gender.  The troll, of course, was more interested in anything but that--I
  22. preferred hard science, books, and music instead of hard knock sports.  Yep, 
  23. I was a class "A" misfit, who was an obvious wierdo to boot.  It didn't
  24. help that having the name "Krum" lead to a great many cruel comments and
  25. jibes--crummmy this n' that jokes, etc--fill in the blanks as desired.

  27. Fortunately, I was well aware that this was basically BS and jealousy
  28. being put out buy small minds, of no interest to me.  So, I did my own
  29. thing, and my family supported me.  BTW, the Krum name is not really
  30. Germanic--it came down the Norwegian side of the family, and I am most like
  31. the "Black Vikings"--dark-haired, dark-eyed--of the old Norwegian stock,
  32. although my father and brother were blonde, blue-eyed types.  The "Black
  33. Vikings," as I am told by my Grandfather, were the real berserker types--
  34. quiet, moody, and strange (boy, he got that one right!).  Based on this
  35. knowledge, I refused to respond to the silliness.  When I was forced to,
  36. the other guy lost, BIG time, and that generated a great deal of space for
  37. me.

  39. Violence, of course, never solves anything--let's ask the former inhabitants
  40. of places like Sodom and Gommorah and other biblical/historical places that
  41. have survived (?) violence :>)!  I tend to have a Heinlienesque (is that a
  42. word) attitude--i.e. your rights end where mine begin.

  44. Whew--sounds like this wandered off into the weeds--CUT!  Philosophy tends
  45. to tire the troll's thinker--it's all an exercise that means little anyway.
