- Now I understand your position, but I think maybe you share a little
- of the misunderstanding. Dimension & vector & concepts like that
- are mathematical abstractions. "Right" & "left wing" are metaphors;
- the metaphor comes down to us from parliament or a public body
- like that, yes? What you see, when you look at this deliberative
- body, is a large group of people, split with a block on your right, &
- a block on your left. Not a linear array. There's no reason to
- think there would be. Clearly, tho, the term "political spectum",
- another metaphor, is guaranteed to bring up ideas of sequence
- along a single dimension -- at least to a scientist.

- I think you are certainly correct that divvying things up to r & l
- wings just doesn't work out in politics as we experience it nowadays,
- but it is nowhere as simple a concept as you've made it out to be.
