- I'm a cooperative student majoring in Computer Science. I go to VA Tech and
- work in Radford VA. I've had to call lots of places around the US to get
- technical information and when the people read it to me, they seem to give
- me extra pauses since I'm from teh mountains and have a Southern Accent as well.
- I don't have a problem with my co-workers with it since most of them are from
- the area as well. In school, some of my teachers are Southern, but hide
- their accent to an extent. My sophomore year I had a lot of people from
- New Jersey, Pennslyvania (sp?) Connecticut, etc etc, and they always got a
- charge out of my accent. Especially the way I say "high school".
