- actually, if you increase the pressure on the water, you can get very cold
- still-liquid water. ice occupies more space than a same volume of water,
- so if its under pressure, it will remain liquid. its due to the polar
- natuer of the water molecules. thats why the temp/pressure diagram for
- h2o looks the way it does.
