  46. I do not apologize for criticizing someone who says to others, "you want to
  47. call it a family."  My Webster's New World Dictionary has 7 definitions for
  48. *family*, 2 of which have a combined total of 7 sudefinitions.  My other,
  49. smaller dictionary has 6 definitions for *family*.  Amazingly, they both
  50. agree that one meaning is *all the people living in the same house*, or
  51. *all those who live in one house*.  Thus, the word has a very inclusive
  52. meaning and I resent someone attempting to Republicanize it.

  54. BTW, I doubt that only a _handful_ of people realize that *denigrate*
  55. comes from the same Latin root, *niger*, as have *Negro* and *Nigeria*.
