  4. Librarian is the reader application for Emerald Publishing's 
  5. Tekkie Disc, which presents Acorn's technical documentation on 
  6. CD-ROM.
  7.  
  8. Tekkie Disc contains:
  9.  
  10. RISC OS 3 PRMs and Style Guide
  11. BBC BASIC Guide
  12. C, Assembler and DDE User Guides.
  13.  
  14. The texts are the same as the printed manuals, and use the same 
  15. layout.

  17. !Help is the user guide for Librarian; you can use this to see how 
  18. Librarian works and what it can do. Double-click on !Librarian and
  19. then on !Help. 
  20.  
  21. Librarian allows you to follow hot-links to move between pages,
  22. make your own notes, place bookmarks, search the text and retrace
  23. your steps through the pages you have looked at.

  25. To run Librarian and look at the bookfiles on The Tekkie Disc, 
  26. you need to have Selwyn and Sidney in a !Fonts directory which 
  27. has been seen by the filer. If you do not have both these fonts, 
  28. some characters will not display properly. Sometimes, lines of 
  29. text which include these characters will be shown in system font.
  30. Acorn distributes the standard !Fonts with the encoding only for 
  31. Sidney, though Selwyn is complete.

  33. When clicking on a single-digit hot-link in a table of contents, 
  34. click slightly to the right of the digit.
