  33. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  34. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are required to
  35. register it (or purchase the licensed version as in the case of Paint Shop
  36. Pro).

  117.                       Installing Paint Shop Pro
  118.     Before you can use Paint Shop Pro you have to run the Paint
  119. Shop Pro setup program from Windows so it will work properly on
  120. your computer. You cannot just copy the files from the Paint Shop
  121. Pro disk to your hard disk.  The files on the distribution disk
  122. are packed in a special way to save space.  The setup program
  123. unpacks those files and builds them on your working disk.
  124.  
  125.     1.  Make Windows' "Program Manager" the active window.
  126.  
  127.     2.  From Windows' "Program Manager", select "File", then
  128.         select "Run". This will open the "Run" dialog box.
  129.  
  130.         Place a the Paint Shop Pro disk in your floppy drive.
  131.         Type in the dialog box the command that will run the Paint
  132.         Shop Pro setup program.
  133.  
  134.         If your floppy disk goes in your Drive "A", type:
  135.             A:SETUP
  136.         If your floppy disk goes in your Drive "B", type:
  137.             B:SETUP
  138.  
  139.         Leave the "Run Minimized" box un-selected, and click the
  140.         "OK" command button (or press "Enter").
  141.  
  142.     3.  After a brief moment you will be prompted by a dialog box
  143.         to enter the desired location for Paint Shop Pro.  This is
  144.         the location that you want your Paint Shop Pro files to be
  145.         placed.  It will suggest a drive and directory of "C:\PSP".
  146.  
  147.         If you want the Paint Shop Pro program files installed on a
  148.         different drive or directory, just click the pointer to the
  149.         right of the characters you want to change, backspace over
  150.         the ones you want to erase, then type in the new designation.
  151.  
  152.     4.  Paint Shop Pro Setup will unpack the necessary files and
  153.         place them into your directory.  The status of the operation
  154.         will be displayed as the setup program does this work.  If
  155.         Paint Shop Pro came on more than one disk, during the
  156.         unpacking of the disks you will be requested to insert the
  157.         next disk.

  159.     5.  You will be asked if you would like to add Paint Shop Pro
  160.         to the program manager.
  161.  
  162.             Select "No" if you do not want Paint Shop Pro added
  163.             to your program manager.
  164.  
  165.             Select "Yes"  to have the setup program automatically
  166.             build a Paint Shop Pro icon and add it to your program
  167.             manager.

  169.     6.  The setup program will notify you when the installation is
  170.         complete.
