- The MagiPlay FLI file player
-
-
- MagiPlay is a FLI player that allows you to display FLI (flic)
- animation files. You can freely distribute MAGIPLAY.EXE and the
- MAGIPLAY.DOC file to your friends and associates and upload the files
- to electronic bulletin boards. The only requirement is that both
- MAGIPLAY.EXE and MAGIPLAY.DOC be together and unmodified.
-
- The command to execute MagiPlay is :
-
- magiplay file /r=<loops> /s=<speed> /n /x /e /d /q /?
-
- Where 'file' is the FLI file you wish to display, <loops> is the number
- of times the animation is played, and <speed> is the playback speed.
- The /x option specifies the use of Extended memory, /e specifies the use
- of Expanded memory and /d specifies disk-based playback (the slowest).
- The /n option will display a message during file loading telling the
- user which memory is used for playback. If the file contains a
- soundtrack, the /q option will play the flic without sound. The /?
- option will display a help screen.
-
- By default, the player uses it's memory scan feature. That is, it
- will first try to fit the flic into Conventional memory, if this is
- not possible it will scan for available Extended memory, if Extended
- memory is not available it will scan for Expanded memory, and finally,
- if all else fails it will use disk-based playback. The memory
- specifiers are not necessary unless you want to force MagiPlay to use
- a specific memory type. The default memory scan feature should
- provide the best available playback method.
-
- By default the animation will play continuously. A playback speed
- of zero is the fastest, 999 is the slowest. The default playback
- speed is the speed assigned when the animation was created.
-
- MagiPlay supports embedded sound frames in FLI files. Some FLI
- players and editors will not play FLI animations containing sound
- frames.
-
- To add sound frames to your FLI animations, KAVIK Software offers
- AniMagician, a FLI editor which supports the sound frame FLI format.
- With AniMagician you can create spectacular 256-color animations,
- complete with an attention-getting soundtrack.
-
- You can order AniMagician from KAVIK Software by sending $35.00 US to :
-
- KAVIK Software
- PO Box 261
- Huntsville, Alabama 35804
-
- Please include your name and address with your order.
-
- Once the animation is playing the following keys are active :
-
- Escape : Exit player
- Space-Bar : Toggle pause on/off
- Up Arrow : Increase playback speed
- Down Arrow : Decrease playback speed
-
- If the animation contains sound frames, you may have to adjust the
- animation playback speed to synchronize the soundtrack with the
- animation.
-
- Make sure "Num-Lock" is off if using the arrow keys on the numeric
- keypad.
