  40. MUSICEASE v4.03 <ASP> - Music Score Editor, with printing capabilities, and 
  41.                         output for MIDI.

  45. MUSICEASE v4.03 <ASP> - a music score editor that lets you create, edit, 
  46. print and play music notation. MusicEase provides a WYSIWYG (What You See 
  47. Is What You Get) screen-oriented editor that lets you see on your computer 
  48. screen the musical score exactly as your printer will print it out. In 
  49. particular, MusicEase is a constraint-based system with a large amount of 
  50. knowledge of music notation.  This allows it to handle intelligently many 
  51. of the details of scoring automatically.  For instance, bar lines are 
  52. inserted automatically according to the meter. If you change the meter, the 
  53. bar line placements change automatically. (Of course you can insert 
  54. barlines yourself wherever you like also.) The result is that you can 
  55. create professional looking scores easily and quickly.

  57. You can enter notes using the computer keyboard or you can enter notes by 
  58. playing them on a MIDI instrument.  You can also create pieces using other 
  59. music software such as a sequencer and, if they have a MIDI file 
  60. capability, these pieces can be loaded directly into MusicEase. MusicEase 
  61. also allows you to transpose, invert and retrograde sections or entire 
  62. pieces.

  99. Please note that in all cases, our own installation routines and utilities
  100. *MUST* be retained, along with the original distribution fileset. Do *NOT*
  101. install and evaluate the program, and then distribute the installed fileset!

  103. All people are permitted and encouraged to give copies of the complete 
  104. MusicEase package to friends and co-workers as long as no fee is charged.

  106. Disk vendors who are Approved Vendor Members of the Association of 
  107. Shareware Professionals (ASP) may, without prior permission, include the 
  108. MusicEase package in their libraries and distribute evaluation copies via 
  109. mail order and direct sales for their normal disk fees. Disk vendors who 
  110. are not members of the ASP, and vendors wishing to sell the MusicEase 
  111. package on in-store racks or on CD-ROM collections *MUST* obtain written 
  112. permission before distributing MusicEase.

  114. All Bulletin Boards and Electronic Communications Services may post the 
  115. MusicEase package for downloading by their customers unless notified 
  116. otherwise by us. The package is normally distributed in .ZIP format, but 
  117. sysops are free to convert the package to any other compression format, so 
  118. long as the files contained within the compressed file are not modified, 
  119. deleted, added to in any way.

  121. Non-profit user groups may include the MusicEase package in their libraries 
  122. and distribute evaluation copies for their normal disk fees unless notified 
  123. otherwise by us.

  125. All others, including anyone interested in bundling the MusicEase package 
  126. with hardware or software sales, must obtain the permission and a license 
  127. before distributing. Third party, consultant, and VAR licenses and multiple 
  128. system site licenses are available.
