  7. Here is some additional information that may be useful. These are details 
  8. of late changes to the manual, and answers the common questions that are 
  9. raised when users attempt to install and run the program for the first time.
  10.  
  11. One of the most common question asked is why a MPU card cannot be recognised
  12. when its Hardware settings appear the be correct. You should be aware that
  13. it is possible for the MPU card to be installed in either the Windows 
  14. environment and accessed through the Cubase┤s MME driver option OR it can be
  15. accessed with the direct Cubase Driver, but not both at the same time.

  17. If you want to use the MPU as installed by Windows then do this:
  18. a) Select Multimedia MIDI option in the Steinberg SETUP program.
  19. b) Deselect all other drivers in the Steinberg SETUP program.

  21. If you want to use Steinberg┤s Driver for the MPU card do this: 
  22. a) Select MPU type interface in the Steinberg SETUP program.
  23. b) Deselect the Multimedia MIDI option.
  24. c) Remove the Windows MPU driver from the system 
  25.     1) Find and Open the CONTROL PANEL in Program Manager.
  26.     2) Open the DRIVERS control Panel.
  27.     3) If its there, select the Roland MPU401 option.
  28.     4) Click on the REMOVE button.
  29.     5) Exit the Control Panels without restarting Windows.
  30.     6) End your Windows session.
  31.     7) Now restart the WHOLE computer.
