-
- Thank you for purchasing Ballade for Windows
- and welcome to the MIDI world!
-
- Now that you have successfully installed the program, you will need to
- assign your Sound Card MPC driver to allow communication between Ballade
- and your MIDI hardware.
-
- To assign the MPC driver, please follow these steps:
-
- 1. Open Ballade by double clicking on the Ballade program icon.
- 2. Select MIDI... from the Config (Configuration) menu.
- The MIDI Port Select window will appear.
- 3. If you have already successfully installed the MPC driver for your
- sound card(MPU-401, Sound Blaster, Media Vision, Ad Lib, etc), then
- the driver should appear in the MIDI IN & OUT Port window lists.
- Select the appropriate driver from both lists and click on OK.
-
- The driver will then be properly assigned!
-
- Note: If you have not already installed your sound card MPC driver,
- please do so now. Please consult your sound card documentation
- for instructions on how to do this.
-
- After assigning your MPC driver for MIDI communication, Ballade will be
- ready to perform!
-
- Please take note of the following features that are not mentioned in your
- manual:
-
- Page View- Options...Bar Width
- - This feature will allow you to adjust the bar width of your score
- printout. This is useful when you may have a score containing a lot
- of 16th or 32nd notes that requires a wider measure to accomodate all
- of the notes. To access this feature, click on the Options... button
- found at the Page View window.
-
- Page View- Set Fonts...
- - This feature allows you to select any available fonts and assign
- them to the following Print Options:
- Song Title
- Page Numbers
- Measure Numbers
- Track Titles
- Clicking on the Set Fonts... button located at the Page View window
- will present a Change Fonts dialog box. Here you can select the items
- you want to include in your printout. Clicking on the Change Font...
- button will present a Font dialog box where you can select the desired
- fonts. If desired, the Print Option items listed above can be seperately
- assigned to different fonts.
-
- The sample songs included with the program are configured for the following
- modules:
-
- Sample Song 1: Paradise- Roland GS/SC7 products
- Sample Song 2: Hungarian Dance- Roland MT32/LAPC1 products
-
- (Note: If you do not have any of the above mentioned products, you may need
- to reassign the program change messages for playback.)
-
- Note: This version 1.0 defaults to the Roland GS Format configuration(GS format
- is a superset of General MIDI Standard).
- The track configuration routine described in this manual will be available
- with the first software upgrade V1.01, which will be sent out automatically
- to all registered users free of charge.
-
- Note: This version 1.0 does not read Ballade DOS files (*.SNG). Please convert
- to MIDI file by using convert.exe which came with DOS version and import
- as MIDI file. Sorry for inconvenince. V1.01 will be able to read the format.
