  3. Deletes all the messages in the WASTEBASKET folder. When you EXIT from MAIL or
  4. enter a SET FILE command (to select a new mail file), an implicit PURGE is done
  5. to empty the WASTEBASKET folder.                             See also <EXIT>

  7. Purged message space is not available for reuse by VAX-11 Record Management
  8. Services (RMS) until you enter the PURGE/RECLAIM command. An automatic
  9. PURGE/RECLAIM is done when the amount of deleted space in a mail file exceeds
  10. 32767 bytes. (MAIL uses the CONVERT/RECLAIM Utility to reclaim space.)

  17.                Releases deleted message space back to VAX-11 Record Management
  18.                Services (RMS) for reuse. Because your mail file is locked
  19.                while PURGE/RECLAIM is running, you are unable to receive new
  20.                mail. Users attempting to send you mail while PURGE/RECLAIM is
  21.                running receive an error message indicating that their message
  22.                was not sent successfully.

  26.                Indicates the amount of released deleted message space in a 
  27.                short statistics display when you use it with PURGE/RECLAIM.
