  1. Note - there was a bug in version 2.18 - when run with the /ALL switch, it
  2. might incorrectly say in the report that one or more infected files had
  3. been detected.   Although the /ALL option should normally not be used, we
  4. considered this flaw serious enough to justify releasing a new version:

  13.    The No_of_the_Beast virus was not disinfected correctly.

  15. Version 2.18 - the following false alarms were fixed:

  17.    A recent version of CLEAN.DAT from the McAfee anti-virus included
  18.    non-encrypted code from the November_17th virus, causing F-PROT to
  19.    generate a false positive.  We expect our competitors to fix this
  20.    problem, but just in case they are not able to do so, we have made a
  21.    small change to avoid this as well.

  23. Version 2.18 - minor improvements and changes:

  25.    The Cybercide.1307 virus frequently infects files incorrectly, with the
  26.    result that the infected files would not run.  Previously only
  27.    correctly infected files could be disinfected, but now F-PROT can
  28.    clean the others as well.

  30.    F-PROT would not offer to disinfect "new or modified" variants of boot
  31.    sector viruses, only viruses it could identify, but did not have
  32.    information on how to disinfect.  This has now been fixed.
