- To play, first select the configur-
- ation menu. If you have a 25Mhz or
- slower 386, then you must select the
- 'reduced detail' item, or else the
- game will not run well on your
- system.

- THE FOLLOWING IS GENERAL INFO
-
- When you pick up ammo that you
- find, it will go right into the
- weapon. If you pick up ammo for a
- weapon you don't yet have, the ammo
- will go into your inventory.
- Med packs work in a similar fashion.
- If you can't use it when you pick it
- up, it pops into your inventory. To
- use it later, you must drop it and
- then pick it up again.

- Grenades must be selected like every
- other weapon. Throw the grenade by
- holding down the space bar and
- releasing it. To make short throws
- tap the space bar quickly. To throw
- the grenade a long distance, press
- the space bar or fire key and hold it
- down until the grenade is thrown.
- Midrange throws are accomplished by
- releasing the fire key before the
- throw actually occurs.
- The grenades must be used with care.
- They will bounce off walls and you are
- vulnerable to their explosions.

- Doors can be opened just by bumping
- against them. If the door is locked,
- your 'door' display will show what key
- is needed.

- Stairwells, elevators, or sometimes
- doorways can cause a 'level-switch'.
- You can always go back to a level you
- have been in, and the state will be
- the same as when you left it.

- Mines can be picked up and placed in
- the path of the enemies. Bombs can
- be planted and detonated remotely by
- holding down the 'b' key for a second
- or so.

- A big part of the game is learning to
- sneak past the enemies. Your
- likelyhood of being spotted depends on
- a computed quanity called your profile.
-
- There are many factors which go into
- your profile. The profile is raised
- by fast movement and shooting, and it
- is lowered by stillness and uniform.
- Stealing a uniform from a dead enemy
- will lower your chances of being
- caught. You do not have to explictly
- issue a command to wear the garmet.
- By having a uniform one in your
- inventory, you are automatically
- wearing it.

- Since exploration and puzzle-
- solving is an important part of
- Lethal Tender, it is recommended
- that you do not read further
- unless stymied.

- Here are some basic hints to help
- you through the game.
-
- You start the game in your head-
- quarters. Here you can pick up
- weapons, ammo, and health packs.
- Go to helicopter to start mission.
-
- You will be dropped on a roof.
- Go down down the stairs to the
- warehouse. There are four guards
- sentried in the green warehouse.
- You can go down the stairs to
- the bigger warehouse.
-
- Go out the door on the wall of
- the warehouse to go outside.
-
- From there you go to the secret
- stair behind the dumpster after
- getting the yellow key from the
- house.
-
- You are supposed to find
- get the blue key from the room
- in the south west, get the
- secret code from the bathroom,
- and open the secret door in the
- northwest, get the key, and
- open the door to the generator
- room, shoot out the generator,
- and then get the keycard in
- the training room to get through
- the electric door.

- Downstairs from there is the goo
- level. You must jump to the
- pedestal out in the lake of goo.
- Then go down the ladder.

- Here you go the south east
- corner to the elevator.
-
- Get out, kill all the guys,
- then go back up to the green
- goo level. Jump back to the
- hallway, and go down the
- stairs to the puzzle hall.
-
- Get through the orbs by
- shooting the closest panel first,
- then the 2nd one. Run like heck
- through the orbs. Blowing up the
- orb in the computer room will
- stop the lasers so you can get
- into the ammo room.
-
- Then go downstairs to the pump
- room. Blow up all the wall pumps
- and leave.
-
- Then grab the red keycard and
- come up the stairs. The guys
- there should be already dead.
- Go up to the roof. Devereaux
- will be waiting on the roof
- for you. After you kill him,
- the chopper will pick you
- up, and you will get the
- 'Congratulations' screen.
- Take care not to blow up your
- chopper in the battle, or else
- you will be stranded.
