  20. │ Troubleshooting:                                                   │ │

  22. │ Some machines cannot run BATS properly with QEMM in memory. We     │ │
  23. │ believe that this problem has been eliminated in 2.3, however,     │ │
  24. │ if you encounter problems first try booting without QEMM. If this  │ │
  25. │ fixes things for you, please drop us a note or leave voice-mail.   │ │
  26. │                                                                    │ │
  27. │ Make sure all files from the original BATS.ZIP are in the          │ │
  28. │ same directory, and that you start the game from that directory.   │ │
  29. │                                                                    │ │
  30. │ If you run the game from floppy or a very slow hard disk, you may  │ │
  31. │ notice a slow-down in the music and animation between rounds. This │ │
  32. │ is normal.                                                         │ │

  34. │ If you are tired of seeing the intro everytime you play, choose    │ │
  35. │ INTRO in the OTHER menu from inside the game, and it will change   │ │
  36. │ to INTRO:OFF.                                                      │ │

  38. │ Most settings are saved in a file called BATS.SET. Keyboard        │ │
  39. │ settings are in BATS.KEY, and joystick settings are in BATS.JOY.   │ │
  40. │ You can erase these files to reset the game back to its default    │ │
  41. │ settings.                                                          │ │

  43. │ A few joysticks don't work with this game. If yours is one of      │ │
  44. │ them, please notify us of your brand of joystick. Enjoy the game   │ │
  45. │ using a mouse or the keyboard. Thanks.                             │ │

  47. │ If the game is too difficult: It always seems that way at first-   │ │
  48. │ keep playing and you will improve! Remember to move up and down    │ │
  49. │ to avoid bats that come from the sides.                            │ │
