- A) What's new?
- ==============
- The installation of the OS/2 driver for SPEA V7 graphic boards has now
- been simpified. In order to enable more comfortable use of the driver
- under OS/2 we have included a new tool, V7SETOS2.
- The installation is quite different to this previous description in the
- manuals and README files.
-
-
- B) Properties of the Driver
- ===========================
- This driver supports the following resolutions and color depth in the
- OS/2 Workplace Shell and Win-OS/2 session:
-
- 640 * 480 * 256 colors
- 800 * 600 * 256 colors
- 1024 * 768 * 256 colors
- 640 * 480 * 64k colors
- 640 * 480 * 16M colors
-
- C) Requirements for Installation
- ================================
- OS/2 has to be installed and runs with standard VGA driver or and older
- BigBlue driver with the V7-VEGA PRO board in the OS/2 environment as
- well.
- Note: You may need the V7-VEGA PRO "Drivers for Windows" Disk for the
- installation, depending on the installed Windows version.
-
-
- D) Installation of the OS/2 Drivers
- ===================================
- 1. (Only when drivers are downloaded from mailbox)
- Extract the files to an 1.44MB floppy a name this disk "V7-VEGA PRO
- BigBlue".
- A disk label is NOT necessary any longer.
-
- 2. Start OS/2.
- Important: before beginning the installation shut down any running
- OS/2 and Windows programs!
- Open a fullscreen session or an OS/2 window. Put the disk labelled
- "V7-VEGA PRO Drivers for OS/2" in drive A: and enter:
- A:\V7SETOS2
- (Only when floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)
-
- Follow the instructions on the screen and if unsure at any point,
- call the online help.
-
- After terminating the program and restarting OS/2 you have access to
- the OS/2 desktop and seamless Windows with the BigBlue driver and
- to MS Windows via the BigWin driver in the resolution and color depth
- that you selected.
-
- Note:
- - Before changing the graphics board (also if you want to install
- the same board type again) you have to reconfigure to standard
- VGA resolution and to repeat the software installation using the disks.
- - During the installation the screen will be remain black for some seconds.
- In this time the system creates new PMI files, depending on the new board.
-
-
- E) Changing the resolution under OS/2 and Win-OS/2
- ==================================================
- After you have installed BigBlue a new folder named "SPEA/V7" will be
- created on your desktop with the V7SETOS2 program icon. After starting
- this program you can change the resolution or color depth before restarting
- your system to initialize the changes.
-
-
- F) Known Restrictions
