  19. A) What's new?
  20. ==============
  21.    The installation of the OS/2 driver for SPEA V7 graphic boards has now
  22.    been simpified. In order to enable more comfortable use of the driver
  23.    under OS/2 we have included a new tool, V7SETOS2.
  24.    The installation is quite different to this previous description in the
  25.    manuals and README files.

  28. B) Properties of the Driver
  29. ===========================
  30.    This driver supports the following resolutions and color depth in the
  31.    OS/2 Workplace Shell and Win-OS/2 session:
  32.       640 * 480  * 256 colors
  33.       800 * 600  * 256 colors
  34.      1024 * 768  * 256 colors

  36. C) Requirements for Installation
  37. ================================
  38.    OS/2 has to be installed and runs with standard VGA driver or and older
  39.    BigBlue driver with the V7-VEGA PLUS board in the OS/2 environment as
  40.    well.
  41.    Note: You need the V7-VEGA PLUS "Drivers for Windows" Disk for the
  42.    installation.

  45. D) Installation of the OS/2 Drivers
  46. ===================================
  47. 1. (Only when drivers are downloaded from mailbox)
  48.    Extract the files to an 1.44MB floppy a name this disk "V7-VEGA PLUS
  49.    BigBlue".
  50.    A disk label is NOT necessary any longer.
  51.  
  52. 2. Start OS/2.
  53.    Important: before beginning the installation shut down any running
  54.    OS/2 and Windows programs!
  55.    Open a fullscreen session or an OS/2 window. Put the disk labelled
  56.    "V7-VEGA PLUS Drivers for OS/2" in drive A: and enter:
  57.       A:\V7SETOS2
  58.    (Only when floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)

  60.    Follow the instructions on the screen and if unsure at any point,
  61.    call the online help.

  63.    After terminating the program and restarting OS/2 you have access to
  64.    the OS/2 desktop and seamless Windows with the BigBlue driver and
  65.    to Windows via the BigWin driver in the resolution and color depth
  66.    that you selected.

  69. E) Changing the resolution under OS/2 and Win-OS/2
  70. ==================================================
  71. After you have installed BigBlue a new folder named "SPEA/V7" will be
  72. created on your desktop with the V7SETOS2 program icon. After starting
  73. this program you can change the resolution or color depth before restarting
  74. your system to initialize the changes.

  77. F) Known Restrictions
  78. =====================
  79. 1. Sometimes it can occure that seamless Windows can not be started 
  80.    when the resolution has been changed. In this case reconfigure to 
  81.    standard VGA and repeat the complete driver installation.

  83. 2. If you have reconfigured your system to VGA and you had installed 
  84.    the V7-VEGA PLUS drivers before you have to repeat the whole installation. 
  85.    Please note that it is not enough to start the program V7SETOS2 from 
  86.    the SPEA/V7 folder again.
