  46.   The V7-MIRAGE P-32 graphics card is a product that offers significantly
  47.   enhanced features compared to other standard VGA graphic and
  48.   accelerator boards.
  49.  
  50.   This particularly applies to
  51.   - higher resolutions    and
  52.   - higher refresh rates.
  53.  
  54.   Please be aware that you can only take full advantage of the
  55.   features provided by the V7-MIRAGE P-32, if the other components of
  56.   your system, especially the graphic monitor that is being used,
  57.   also comply with the specifications of the V7-MIRAGE P-32.
  58.   (Example : The resolution 1280x1024 that is supported by the
  59.   V7-MIRAGE P-32 can obviously not be used with a monitor that is
  60.   specified to only support resolutions up to 1024x768.)

  66.   To install the SPEA V7 Windows driver 'BigWin':

  68.   At the end of the current installation procedure,
  69.   please insert disk "Drivers for Windows" and enter:

  78.   Usually two major steps are necessary to install the driver(s)
  79.   for a specific non windows application.
  80.  
  81.   (1) First the driver modules must be copied from the V7-MIRAGE P-32
  82.   Superdisk to the hard disk of your system.
  83.   This is done by the INSTALL program provided with the V7-MIRAGE P-32
  84.   Superdisk.
  85.   Before you start INSTALL you should know in which drives and
  86.   directories the applications are installed that you want to install
  87.   drivers for.
  88.  
  89.   - change to the V7-MIRAGE P-32 Superdisk and call INSTALL,
  90.   - select the language you prefer,
  91.   - and follow the instructions given by INSTALL.
  92.  
  93.   (2) After the driver modules have been copied to the hard disk, the
  94.   applications need to be re-configured for the new drivers. The
  95.   User Manual provides detailed descriptions for each application
  96.   supported by the V7-MIRAGE P-32.
  97.  
  98.   VESA modes:
  99.   The V7-MIRAGE P-32 BIOS of the boards supports the VESA interface directly.
  100.   Software such as MS Flight Simulator 5.0 can therefore be run without
  101.   loading V7MIPVBE.EXE, however they do run better with the TSR program.

  107.   As already mentioned above, the graphic monitor used with the
  108.   V7-MIRAGE P-32 must comply to the specifications of the V7-MIRAGE
  109.   P-32. Only then can the full functionality of the V7-MIRAGE P-32
  110.   be used.

  112.   In order to configure your V7-MIRAGE P-32 for your monitor use
  113.   the program SPTUNE.
  114.   Windows applications are tuned via the V7SETUP configuration program.

  116.  
  117.         *** IMPORTANT ***
  118.  
  119.   Please only select parameters that your monitor is specified for.
  120.   Your monitor may be seriously damaged, if it is constantly driven
  121.   with parameters which are not within the range of its specification.
  122.   If you change your monitor you have to compare the specification
  123.   and, if necessary, to change the resolutions / refresh rates using
  124.   SPEAtune !

  130.   (1) It is not possible to use two or more active VGA boards in one PC at
  131.   the same time.
  132.   In case you want to use the V7-MIRAGE P-32 board in a PC that has a
  133.   VGA interface integrated on the motherboard, then this integrated
  134.   VGA interface must be disabled before the V7-MIRAGE P-32 may be used.

  136.   (2) Some applications such as Windows 3.1, and others offer
  137.   "Video 7 ..." display interfaces in their configuration programs.
  138.  
  139.   These options should NOT be selected when using the V7-MIRAGE P-32.
  140.  
  141.   Please follow the instructions given in the user's manual to
  142.   guarantee that the optimum configuration for the V7-MIRAGE P-32 is
  143.   being installed.

  150.   Seperate README files are supplied for most application drivers
  151.   available for the V7-MIRAGE P-32. These READMEs contain last-minute
  152.   information not included in the printed documentation and infor-
  153.   mation related to known limitations.

  155.   These README files are copied to the directory \SPEA\GDC when
  156.   the related driver has been selected for installation while
  157.   running the INSTALL program. The READMEs can be identified by
  158.   the file name extension .DOC .

  160.   Use the command  SHOW *.DOC  from the \SPEA\GDC directory to
  161.   display the README file on your screen.

  173.   SPEA V7-MIRAGE P-32 and SPEA ergonomic modes:
  174.   =============================================
  175.   The V7-MIRAGE P-32 with supports (via the BIOS) all the resolutions 
  176.   available up to a frequency of 75 Hz. A software solution is available 
  177.   with SPTUNE to set screen refresh rates up to 100 Hz. An overview of 
  178.   the frequencies available can be found in the file BIOS.TXT. 
  179.   Important: SPEA ergonomics modes with frequencies are only active 
  180.   if the program "V7HFREQ" is loaded with the option "t". 
  181.   For this reason a corresponding entry is made in your AUTOEXEC.BAT
  182.   during the installation routine.

  186.   AutoCAD 11 is not supported by the V7-MIRAGE P-32.
