  16. There are two possibilities how to install the Windows drivers:
  17.  
  18.     1) Using the SPEA V7SETUP (quick installation, update)
  19.     2) Using the Windows SETUP program (standard installation)
  20.

  22. 1) Via the SPEA V7SETUP (Quick Installation, Updating an older 
  23.    SPEA BigWin Driver)

  25.     Start Windows and choose at the Program Manager:
  26.             PROGRAM-RUN
  27.     and type B:\V7SETUP.
  28.  
  29. 2) Via the Windows SETUP Program (Standard Installation)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------
  31.     Exit Windows and start the program SETUP from the windows directory, 
  32.     choose at DISPLAY "Others", insert the new disk in the corresponding 
  33.     drive and press RETURN. Now follow the instructions given by the 
  34.     Windows SETUP program.

  37. Note:    Updating any existing drivers via SPEA V7SETUP the icons SPEAview
  38. =====    and WinTune will not be installed automatically if you kill the
  39.          SPEA/V7 group. Please refer the MicroSoft Windows documentation 
  40.          about information how to integrate this program into the program 
  41.          manager.

  43. Note:    The BigWin driver uses VESA in some resolutions modes as well.   
  44. =====    So, if VESA support is required, a small memory resident program
  45.      should be executed. 
  46.      Copy from this disk the program V7MERVBE.EXE for ISA/VL bus
  47.      or V7ME2VBE.EXE for PCI bus on your harddisk and insert the program 
  48.      call in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

  50. Note:    V7SETUP adds new line in SYSTEM.INI under title [CAD1K.DRV],
  51. =====    BASEADDRESS=0, required for BigWin. Only if system has more
  52.     than 32 MB RAM, SYSTEM.INI should be edited and this value 
  53.         be changed to 1.

  60.     1) During first installation the driver will be installed with the 
  61.     lowest possible refresh rate at the chosen resolution.
  62.     If you use a high-class multi-sync monitor and you choose a
  63.     resolution 1024x768 and above, synchronisation problems may occur.
  64.     To prevent this, please choose at first the resolution
  65.     640x480. Afterwards you can change to the preferred resolution and
  66.     refresh rate with the utility V7SETUP, witch appears automatically 
  67.     after starting Windows.
  68.     
  69.     2) While installing the Windows drivers, you may be prompted for the
  70.      "V7-MERCURY Driver for Windows disk" and the drive A:\ will be
  71.      displayed. When this happens, enter "B:\" if this diskette is in the
  72.      B: drive.  
  73.      If "Problem with disk drive A:" message is displayed, and the 
  74.      installation disk is in drive B:, press ESC twice, and re-enter "B:"
  75.      in the space provided.
  76.      The cause for these inquiries is a Microsoft WINDOWS routine.
  77.         (Only when floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)

  79.     3) Installing graphical drivers for Windows and Virus Check Programs
  80.      Virus check programs, such as the DOS 6.0 internal one, which search
  81.      for changes at *.exe and *.com files, detect changes at the file
  82.      win.com after installing the SPEA V7 BigWin driver. This is not a
  83.      virus, because while installing the driver, driver supplements will
  84.      be saved in this file.

  91.     1) The SPEA V7 BigWin Driver may not be used in 80286 based
  92.     systems. 
  93.  
  94.     2) VDD limitation:  Cannot execute any VGA graphics modes in a 
  95.     windowed mode. The XGA driver supplied by Microsoft has a similiar 
  96.     limitation.  
  97.  
  98.     3) True Color:
  99.     If you use more than 15 icons in one program group, a message will
  100.     tell you that not all symbols are converted correctly. These symbols 
  101.     will be displayed in black. This is caused by a Microsoft Program 
  102.     Manager limitation.

  108.         WinTune is a utility used to change the display position and size
  109.         quickly and easily. The program is installed by V7SETUP and is 
  110.         self-explanatory. You can use the online help available if you need 
  111.         assistance with the program.

  113.   Note: WinTune will only work with V7-MERCURY and BIOS versions 4.00 or higher.
  114.         If your BIOS is a version prior to 4.00 WinTune will not be installed.
