  13. V7Setup is a comfortable configuration utility for SPEA Software AG's OS/2 
  14. driver software. 
  15. The menu is virtually self-explanatory although this online help may give you 
  16. useful or important tips and information which you might otherwise not have 
  17. had. 
  18. Note that if you are using WIN-0S/2 fullscreen sessions that the appearance and 
  19. configuration of these is handled by the V7SETUP menu you install and call 
  20. there (exception: if you have activated the option 'Use same settings in 
  21. WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session' in the V7setup menu). 
  22. Note: 
  23. The installation of a secondary monitor is currently not supported with this 
  24. driver version.

  39. displayed on your screen (currently 256, 65,356 or 'TrueColor' with 16.7

  62. This setting determines the refresh rate of the display.

  67. The TEST button is only active if a SPEA V7 driver is already loaded and the 
  68. selected refresh rate is possible for current video mode. 
  69. The TEST button is deactivated if you change the colour depth or resolution.

  71. If you want to test the refresh rate: 
  72. Click on the TEST button. After a short message on the screen you can start the 
  73. test with the OK button. After this the screen refresh rate is changed and the 
  74. test started.

  77.   Click here or press the RETURN key to restore the previous refresh rate.

  80.   Click here to retain the current refresh rate. You can also press the ESC 
  81.   key.

  84. If you permanently use a refresh rate that is too high for your monitor you may 
  85. damage it! Read the manual of your monitor to check which refresh rates it can 
  86. handle.

  91. You must restart OS/2 to activate your changes. To do this, select one of the 
  92. following options in V7Setup:

  94. o Shut down and restart: 
  95.   Ends your current OS/2 session and restarts OS/2 using the new driver.

  97. o Shut down: 
  98.   Ends your current OS/2 session without restarting OS/2. The changes you have 
  99.   made will be activated when you start OS/2 again.

  101. o Don't shut down: 
  102.   Leaves V7Setup without ending the current OS/2 session. The changes you have 
  103.   made will be activated when you start OS/2 again.

  110. This option can only be selected if you have installed WIN-OS/2.

  112. If this option is checked then the colour, resolution and refresh rate settings 
  113. will be used in WIN-OS/2 fullscreen sessions. 
  114. When installing for the first time you will need the disk labelled 'Drivers for 
  115. Windows'. 
  116. All the files are copied into your WIN-OS/2 directory.

  118. If you want to use the OS/2 settings (different colour depth or resolution) in 
  119. a WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session, then proceed as follows: 
  120.  
  121. o Click on this option in order to install all the files required for WIN-OS/2 
  122.   fullscreen sessions. 
  123. o After you have completed the installation, don't shut down your system. 
  124.   Instead start the V7setup menu again. 
  125. o Deactivate the option and leave the menu again with OK and then shut down the 
  126.   system. 
  127. o After starting OS/2 again, start a WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session. 
  128. o Start the Program Manager and select File, Run. Enter V7SETUP to start the 
  129.   menu there. 
  130. o Configure your WIN-OS/2 fullscreen session desktop with the menu.
