- (C)1992 J&J GAMEWARE
-
- JOKER'S WILD is a home computer version of the casino favorite,
- 5 Card Draw poker. It can be played using your mouse, or if you
- prefer, just the keyboard. This game is intended for home
- entertainment only and is not to be used as a gambling device.
-
- ┌───────┐
- │ RULES │
- └───────┘
- The game is played with a 53 card deck (one Joker) that is re-
- shuffled before each hand.
- You must have at least a pair of Jacks or better to win.
- The amount that you win will be determined according to the pay-
- chart that is displayed at the top of the screen. Naturally, the
- better your hand is, and the more you bet, the more you will win.
- (On the paychart, some hands are marked with "*". If you should get
- one of these hands WITHOUT using the Joker, that is to say a
- "Natural" hand, this is called a "BONUS" hand and your winning amount
- will be twice the listed amount.)
- You may draw from 0 to 5 cards each hand.
- You may bet from $1 to $5 on each hand.
- You start the game with $100, and there is no limit to how much
- you win or lose. You can stop the game at any time.
-

- │ THE PLAYING SCREEN │
- └────────────────────┘
-
- The box at the top of the screen is the pay-chart. Just below
- that are two boxes labeled "COINS IN:", which indicates the amount
- you have wagered on the current hand, and "CREDIT:", the dollar
- amount of the credits you have accumulated.
- Your cards are in the middle of the screen, and just below them,
- toward the right of the screen, are three "control buttons" labeled
- "Deal/Draw", "Play" and "Quit". At the very bottom of the screen is
- a "message" area where simple playing instructions are displayed in
- case you find yourself wondering, "Ok, Now what?"

-
- BETTING: At the begining of each hand a set of five numbered boxes
- will pop up on top of the "control button area" with the
- message "CHOOSE BET AMOUNT". Use your mouse to position the
- arrow cursor over one of the five numbered boxes and press
- any button on your mouse to register your bet.
-
- THE DEAL: After you have placed a bet, your first five cards are
- dealt.
-
- DEAL/DRAW: After your first five cards are displayed, the arrow
- cursor will move to the card area.
- Use your mouse to position the cursor over any card you would
- like to keep and then press any mouse button. That card will
- be marked "HOLD". If you change your mind about holding a
- card, repeat the steps just mentioned and the hold will be
- removed.
- When you have marked all the cards you want to keep, move the
- arrow cursor to the "DEAL/DRAW" button and press any mouse
- button. The cards that were not marked HOLD are discarded
- and replaced with new cards.
-
- RESULTS: If you have a winning hand the program will declare your
- highest possible hand and the amount you have won is added to
- your CREDIT amount.
-
- PLAY / QUIT: Depending on if you want to play another game or not,
- move the arrow cursor to the appropriate box, "PLAY" or
- "QUIT", and press any mouse button.
-
- KEYBOARD PLAY: If you do not wish to use your mouse, you can play the
- game by using the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the arrow
- cursor on the screen, and by pressing the ENTER key whenever
- pressing a mouse button would be required. However, you must still
- have your mouse and mouse driver installed.
