  4. DUBBEL is a Solitaire game for the Windows environment.
  5.  
  6. This version of DUBBEL is an update to the first release.
  7.  
  8. If you've used the first release of DUBBEL, please refer to
  9. the section on game file conversion for games saved.

  11. System requirements
  12. -------------------
  13. IBM compatible 286 CPU or higher.
  14. 1Mb RAM or more.
  15. Color VGA or SVGA Video system
  16. Microsoft Windows v3.00 or higher environment.
  17. Mouse or keyboard.

  20. Installation
  21. ------------
  22. Create a subdirectory or choose an existing one and copy
  23. all the files in this package to that directory.
  24.  
  25. In the Program Manager, create a group or a choose an existing
  26. one, and add an icon for the DUBBEL executable file.

  29. Different ways to run the game
  30. ------------------------------
  31. 1. Double-click on the DUBBEL icon 
  32.  
  33. 2. From the File menu, choose Run, find and select DUBBEL.EXE, then OK
  34.  
  35. 3. In the File Manager, find DUBBEL.EXE, double-click or choose Run then OK.
  36.  
  37. 4. In the File Manager, associate a saved game (.DBL file) with DUBBEL.EXE
  38.    This allows you to double-click on a saved game and load the game at once.
  39.  
  40. 5. On the command-prompt, type WIN DUBBEL [filename.DBL] 
  41.    [filename.DBL] - Name of a saved game.

  44. File conversion for DUBBEL v1.00 saved games
  45. --------------------------------------------
  46. The games saved with DUBBEL v1.00 are incompatible with DUBBEL v1.10.
  47. A conversion program is provided with this package, to allow users of v1.00 
  48. who've saved their unfinished games, to be able to convert to the new file
  49. structure.
  50. To convert a file from the old version to the new version of DUBBEL, run
  51. OLD2NEW as follows:

  53.    OLD2NEW <old filename> <new filename>
  54.  
  55. For example,
  56.  
  57.    OLD2NEW winning winner
  58.    OLD2NEW oldgame.dbl newgame.dbl
  59.    OLD2NEW best.dbl c:\dubbel\worse.dbl
  60.    OLD2NEW a:\saved d:\win
