  5. Canasta is a strategy cardgame for Windows 3.1. It is the computer version
  6. of the classic Canasta game played all over the world. Canasta is played with
  7. two players, and in the computer version that means you against the machine.
  8. There are three difficulty levels, so you always have an opponent that matches 
  9. your skills.
  10. The rules are not easy, but the online Help file (press F1 when you're in
  11. Canasta) explains them all. Once you know the game, it's a real challenge!

  14. INSTALLING CANASTA
  15. ==================

  17. Follow the steps below to install Canasta : 
  18.  
  19. 1. Start Windows.
  20.  
  21. 2. Run the program 'install.exe' in the directory with the Canasta files.
  22.    That is usually the floppy, CD-ROM or download directory you received
  23.    Canasta on.
  24.  
  25. 3. Follow the instructions in the Install program.
  26.  
  27. 4. When the install program has finished, you're ready to play! 
  28.    If you let the install program create a Program Manager group,
  29.    double-click on the 'Canasta 2.42' icon to start the game, otherwise
  30.    run 'canasta.exe' to start.

  51. Registration can take place in the following ways:

  53. 1)    Dutch residents can transfer f30,- to PostBank account nr 4375889.
  54.  
  55. 2)    European residents can write a Eurocheque for f30,- (Dutch guilders)
  56.     payable to the author given above. 
  57.     Please remember the code on the back!

  59. 3)    Residents outside Europe can send $20 (US) in cash or a check
  60.     or money order for $25 through the mail (See REGISTER.TXT).

  62. 4)    Members of Compuserve can GO SWREG and register Canasta with id 3124.

  64. 5)    Credit card orders by phone, fax or mail are taken by PsL -- please 
  65.     refer to the section below.

  67. When using method 2) or 3), please fill out the REGISTER.TXT file. You can
  68. then use the printout to fold the money/check in, so that it is not visible
  69. from the outside.
